My name is Amy Hanson. I am a professional seamstress who specializes in tailoring and costuming. I have been sewing for over 30 years, and have been sewing at a professional level for over 15. While I specialize in well-made costuming and historical reproduction, I also sew formals and wedding attire, including gowns, bridesmaid's dresses, flower girl dresses, communion dresses and vests for the groom and groomsmen. I also specialize in tailoring, whether it be making clothing I sew to fit you perfectly, or adjusting clothing you purchase elsewhere. My sewing expertise is not limited to clothing either – if you would like something special for your house, please contact me.
I am located in the Cleveland, OH, area [Montville,
OH], and work both through the mail and in person. If you live in the Northeastern Ohio / Northwestern
Pennsylvania area, I may be willing to travel to you. Otherwise, we can still do everything through email and
regular mail. No matter where you live, I can help design your dream.
I do all aspects of costuming, including helping my
clients make or find the proper accessories to go with the clothing I make for
them. I do SCA, all times of historical reenacting, RenFaire, LARP, convention, theater, and Halloween costuming. I
will also help costume medieval, renaissance, and specialty weddings. I have
done both props and costuming for more than one major downtown Cleveland
theater.
I used to operate a store on eBay, but it was closed in July of 2005. I have upgraded to a site of my own. I have a selection of basic clothing: from historical acurate to historic like, to my own designs. And as always, I open to discussing whatever else you may imagine... Also you will find my "Wish Fairies" (who would love to be adopted) and other fun odds and ends. After all, I don't call my store "Misc. Etc." for nothing.
